Following on from last year's junior competition, area 32 committee member, Gary Ross has generously decided to sponsor a senior award as well this year! The competition will run from 1 May 2009 to 30 April 2010. To be eligible for this award we need you to send your horses BSJA printout, showing your competition placings achieved at shows. We will inform you near the end of the the year, how to send in your results. It doesn't matter if you only have one horse, as it is the horse and rider combination that will accrue the points, so it is no advantage to have more than one horse.
The leading horse / rider combination will be worked out on a points for placings basis. Points will be awarded on the following basis:
1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 8 points
3rd place = 6 points
4th place = 4 points
5th place = 2 points
6th place or lower = 1 point.
To be eligible you must be a current senior member of area 32.

It seems that we have a rather special little stallion in our area.
On the 11th October 2009, Ellie Archdeacon, took her pony stallion "Freddie" to the Sports Pony Studbook Society grading and in-hand premium show at the Heart of England Showground.
Of the 10 stallions forward, six were graded and two of these were life approved at the first viewing. Champion was the Irish-bred Welsh Section B Desarbre Falcon, presented in his ridden and BSJA section by 10 year old Ellie Archdeacon, who has owned him since the beginning of September. This lovely pony, who has a delightful temperament, also passed his 128cm BSJA assessment with flying colours and his current winnings now take him close to JA.
So, well done Ellie from all of us. It must have been a daunting day for such a young rider. Doesn't Freddie look great in his sash!
